Family Dinners Made Easy with Beehive Meals
If your evenings look anything like ours—between homework, sports practices, and figuring out what’s for dinner—then you’ll love this one. I just received our October Family Style box from Beehive Meals, and I’m so excited to NOT plan at least 10 meals this month.
I choose the Small Family option to feed our two adults, an 8-year-old, and a 6-year-old (who will, inevitably tell me he doesn’t like it and ask for chicken nuggets). There are two other options if your family needs more food – I would have kicked it up one notch if Easton was still home but 3-4 should be adequate for us now.
Ten full freezer meals arrived in branded cooler bag (that, I guess, they don’t want back?) prepped, labeled, and vacuum-sealed flat ready to go straight into the freezer or slow cooker. The meals don’t take up a lot of space in the freezer (huge win) and the box can also be cut open and used as a large coloring page. When it’s time to cook, you just cut open the bag, pour it into your crockpot, and let it do its thing. Dinner basically makes itself while you’re experiencing all the joys of your day.
Each dinner takes about 2 minutes of prep and zero mental load. If you can find your crock pot and scissors you’re good to go. Forget the chopping, measuring, and cleanup. Add a no-mess crockpot liner and you can also add dishes to the list of things to forget!
The Small Family box is advertised as 3-4 servings per meal. At $180.00 for the order (plus a steep $25 for shipping), it breaks down to ~$20.00/meal. Although I don’t love that shipping cost it’s still WAY less than what we’d spend grabbing takeout.
The October menu includes cozy, family-friendly favorites like taco mac, teriyaki chicken, and corn chowder—perfect for fall nights. Eight of this month’s meals are gluten free and six are dairy free. I will update this post at the end of the month when we’ve eaten our way through the box with my thoughts on each meal.
